A student activist was escorted out of a session at the Asma Jahangir Conference (AJCONF2026) in Lahore after he confronted the German ambassador over Germany’s role in the Gaza war.
Ali Abdullah Khan, president of the Progressive Students’ Collective (PSC), raised the issue during a session on disability rights.
During the session, Abdullah criticised German Ambassador Ina Lepel for speaking on disability rights while, he said, her country supplied weapons to Israel, resulting in more than 12,000 children being disabled in Gaza.

Ambassador Lepel did not respond to the remarks. The session moderator asked Abdullah to wait until the end of the discussion to raise his questions, but he refused. He then began chanting slogans in support of Palestine, including “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” after which he was asked to leave the venue.
The incident took place during the two-day Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore.
