The administration of Punjab College Campus 10 refuted reports of a sexual assault involving a female student during a press conference on Wednesday, stating that those spreading ‘false information’ about the incident are not affiliated with the institution.

The alleged rape incident went viral on social media, with multiple accounts claiming that a security guard had assaulted a first-year intermediate student in the basement of Punjab College Campus 10, located in Lahore’s Gulberg area.

The administration dismissed the allegations as propaganda and a media stunt, stating, “98% of the female students seen in the viral videos on social media do not belong to this campus."

According to the administration, the incident surfaced on October 12 after which the police were contacted following reports circulating on social media.

The management also addressed the issue of several names of supposed victims being shared online. They contacted the families of these girls but found no evidence to support the claims.

Students were also requested to share information if anyone had witnessed such an incident.

“We urge students across Pakistan not to tarnish their institutions by blindly following baseless claims. Unfortunately, a trend began without fact-checking, and many simply followed,” they remarked.

The college’s director, Agha Tahir Ejaz also stated the education minister of Punjab will answer hismelf for making statements about the incident without conducting a proper investigation.

He asked how details of the alleged incident could be shared by someone who does not even belong to the campus in question.

An FIR was lodged at Defence A police station at the request of the college management. Authorities contacted several students as part of the investigation.

On Monday evening, ASP Sheherbano Naqvi released a video statement alongside the victim’s father and uncle, describing the incident as “propaganda” and “misinformation.”

The victim’s uncle revealed that the girl was in the ICU after falling down the stairs at home and that the false reports had caused severe mental distress for the family.
