In a major legal development, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected a petition seeking to blacklist Bahria Town, one of the country's largest real estate developers.

The petition was filed by Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, a concerned citizen, who had raised issues related to Bahria Town’s operations.

However, the applicant, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, failed to appear before the court during the proceedings, leading to a key decision.

A seven-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court, after reviewing the matter, dismissed the petition on grounds of non-appearance by the petitioner.

The bench observed that the absence of the petitioner during the hearing left no reason to continue with the case, leading to the dismissal.

The move has cleared the way for Bahria Town to continue its operations without the immediate threat of being blacklisted by the court.

Bahria Town, which has been involved in several high-profile real estate projects across the country, has faced multiple legal challenges in the past. Despite these hurdles, the company remains one of the most influential players in Pakistan's real estate sector.
