Pakistan has made a remarkable return to the global diplomatic stage in 2025, with international analysts and leading publications highlighting Islamabad’s resurgence as one of the most significant diplomatic recoveries in recent years.

The British newspaper The Telegraph identified Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as a key architect of Pakistan’s renewed international influence, noting his proactive approach on both military and diplomatic fronts.

Under the headline “How Pakistan Won Influence Over the White House,” the newspaper detailed Islamabad’s successful efforts to rebuild its standing in Washington, despite earlier strained relations during former President Donald Trump’s first term.

The report highlighted that, despite sustained lobbying from India, Pakistan secured a strong diplomatic position in the US capital.

The Telegraph noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir were granted direct access to the Oval Office—a rare diplomatic achievement. Pakistan’s approach, the report explained, went beyond rhetoric, delivering tangible results that rebuilt trust at the highest levels.

The newspaper further stated that Pakistan–US relations have entered a “new and more powerful phase,” with a key turning point being Pakistan’s arrest of the mastermind behind the Kabul attack.

This operation was praised by President Trump as a major success of joint counterterrorism cooperation and significantly strengthened bilateral trust.

During heightened tensions with India, The Telegraph noted that US intervention played a crucial role in preventing escalation. Pakistan welcomed American mediation, while India reportedly did not acknowledge Washington’s efforts.

In recognition of these initiatives, Pakistan nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, reflecting growing confidence in bilateral ties.

The report also highlighted economic developments following official visits by Field Marshal Munir and Prime Minister Sharif.

The United States granted Pakistan favourable tariff rates and signed agreements granting American companies access to Pakistan’s mineral sector.

Pakistan has offered nearly $6 trillion worth of mineral reserves to US firms, a move described by The Telegraph as a potential game-changer for deepening economic cooperation.

Overall, the coverage portrays Pakistan’s strategic and diplomatic revival as a combination of decisive leadership, tangible achievements, and strengthened international partnerships.
