Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest as violent and held protesters responsible for the death of Rangers personnel.

"This is not a peaceful protest. It is extremism, and anarchists want bloodshed instead of revolution," Premier Shehbaz said in a statement issued late Monday night.

The statement came after a vehicle rammed into law enforcement performing their duty on the Srinagar Highway in Islamabad, resulting in the martyrdom of four personnel, including two police personnel.

PM Shehbaz also expressed condolences over the death of Constable Mubashir.

He said the attack on security forces in the name of a so-called "peaceful" protest is condemnable and directed the concerned authorities to conduct a speedy investigation and bring the miscreants to justice as soon as possible.

Moreover, the Prime Minister instructed that the best medical facilities be provided to the security personnel injured during the clashes with PTI protesters.

"Anarchists have been deliberately targeting security forces, destroying the lives of their [security personnel's] families," noted the Premier, adding, "This is not a peaceful protest; it is extremism."

The Premier maintained that the security personnel were deployed to maintain law and order in the capital city, but they were killed, and "the PTI protesters are accountable to the children and families of the security personnel."

According to reports, the incident left four Rangers and police injured, who were immediately shifted to the hospital. In total, more than 100 police personnel were injured, many of whom were in serious condition.
