Punjab Police launch search for minor girl exploited by transgender ‘guru’ in viral video

A disturbing video surfaced from Gujranwala, showing a transgender individual (Guru) allegedly torturing and holding a minor girl captive. The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab took notice of the incident and confirmed that an investigation is underway.

Chairperson Sarah Ahmed expressed fears of possible sexual assault with a minor girl, stating that these concerns make this  particularly sensitive.

Sarah and her teams filed a complaint with the police against trans individuals under the sections related to human trafficking, wrongful confinement and child abduction.

The bureau initiated an investigation into the matter and vowed to take swift action to recover the girl.

Sarah requested the Inspector General of Punjab to arrest the transgender individual as soon as possible.

The chairperson expressed gratitude to the civil society for raising their voice against those, who are involved in such ill practices.   

The matter came to light after a fashion entrepreneur, Maria B, shared a video clip in which  a Guru was seen harassing and torturing a minor girl and forcing him to dance. 

The video showed the girl following the Guru's gestures and said that Guru brings her to every event for dancing. 

However, Maria B described that culture as “Qaum-e-Loot” and urge people to raise their voice against them.

She also stated that the some transgenders pick minor children and use them in sexual activities as a business.
