The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom has updated its travel advisory list to include eight more countries considered to be 'extremely dangerous' for tourism and advised its citizens against visiting them.
According to sources, the British Foreign Office has added Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, Israel, Belarus and Palestine to its list of high-risk destinations. This brings the total number of countries on the list to 24.
The ‘banned’ countries on the list include Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. It also blacklisted war-torn Syria, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Chad, Haiti, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Niger, North Korea, Somalia, Somaliland, South Sudan, Venezuela and Central African Republic.
While travel to these countries is not prohibited, the FCDO advised that British citizens choosing to travel there may not be able to receive assistance in case of any untoward incident.
Those traveling to these locations are urged to take all necessary precautions and to notify the FCDO in advance of their departure.
