Woman, 8-year-old daughter found dead in home in Karachi

A 30-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were found dead in their home in Malir's Khokhrapar area on Friday.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the house after receiving information about the bodies. Investigators collected evidence from the scene and took the woman's husband into custody for questioning after initial findings raised suspicion.

According to SHO Riaz Bhutto, the woman was found hanging from an iron wire inside the house, with a ligature mark visible on her neck.

He said the body of the young girl was found lying on the floor, with no hanging marks on her neck. Police suspect the child may have been strangled to death.

The SHO added that the woman's husband had reportedly left the house at around 4pm the previous day and returned the following morning. He has been detained on suspicion, while police await the post-mortem reports to determine the exact cause of death and proceed with further legal action.
