The US woman, who extended her stay in Pakistan despite having an expired visa, was shifted to a shelter home of Chhipa welfare organisation after a guesthouse owner refused to accommodate her. Onijah Robinson also fell ill due to exhaustion from her chaotic journey in Karachi.
Ramzan Chhipa, founder of Chhipa Foundation, stated that he brought the woman to a shelter home from Tipu Sultan police station, located in PECHS block 6, as she became unwell due to a month-long unrest.
“The woman is like my sister and I arranged accommodation for her. She can live here as long as she wants," Chhipa added.

Moreover, Mr Chippa assigned volunteers to her who would stay with the US woman and would look after her.
“The woman would be looked after in the Chhippa shelter home, and we are doing this on a humanitarian basis,” he added.
Onijah Andrew had travelled to Pakistan in October with a month-long visa permit to unite with her Karachi-based boyfriend, Nidal Memon, who refused to marry her and fled his house upon her arrival.

The woman, after an overnight protest on Thursday, moved to a guest house near PECHS block 6, but the gues house management refused to provide her accommodation and she was sent to the police station.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nidal Memon and his family escaped from their residence and remained out of reach. Security forces and flat administration were unable to contact them so far.
