Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur lost his temper and smashed window of vehicle with the butt of a Kalashnikov, amidst tensions surrounding the PTI rally in Lahore.

Gandapur's convoy was stuck in traffic while en route to the rally. Upon encountering roadblocks at the Lahore-Sialkot motorway entrance, he struck the car window with the weapon.

The PTI rally, held at Lahore's Kahna Cattle Market, started 1.5 hours behind schedule. Leaders and supporters continued to arrive, with several leaders delivered speeches.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Lahore was plunged into darkness as police intervened after the event exceeded its allotted time. 

The rally, scheduled to take place from 3 pm to 6 pm, continued beyond the approved hours, prompting authorities to take control of the stage and turn off the microphone and lights.

As the allocated deadline expired, the police stepped in, and the main stage began to empty. . PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan left the stage.

The Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza had directed the rally organizers to adhere to the approved schedule, warning of legal action against any violation of the No Objection Certificate (NOC). 

Earlier, the standoff between PTI and the Punjab government ended with the party being granted permission to hold the rally, subject to compliance with 43 conditions.

In the NOC, the local administration has demanded KP CM Gandapur “to tender apology publically for his venom during Islamabad rally on September 8.

The conditions also said that those PTI members under trial for hate speech in the Islamabad rally would not be allowed to appear and participate.

“In view of overall security situation and threat alerts received from different quarters, the organisers are once again cautioned and strongly advised to undertake all requisite precautionary measures in and around the venue for safety of participants and general public since this public gathering are being convened at their call,” the NOC stated.
