Rumorus factories were active after it was reported that a United States (US) delegation reached Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where the former prime minister Imran Khan is incarcerated.
The situation was cleared within hours as it was made clear that a three-member delegation from the US Embassy visited Adiala Jail to their citizens.
The delegation was granted consular access to three detained US citizens.
The delegation met with the three American citizens – Abid Malik, Sadiqa Saeed, and Alex Pleado – who are held under the Foreign Act.
The meeting, which took place in the Additional Superintendent’s office, lasted for one hour.
The US delegation comprised Irfan Jan, Mike Murphy, and Raheel Javed. Following the meeting, the delegation left Adiala Jail.
The situation was hyped on the development as several PTI leaders are predicting that a win for Donald Trump in the US elections scheduled to be held on November 5, can 'ease' matters for the party and PTI founder Imran Khan.
In a recently interview with a private TV, Sardar Latif Khosa pinned hope that Trump's win might change the situation for his party.
