Momina Iqbal serves legal notice to Nasir Madni over 'defamatory' remarks

Actress Momina Iqbal and religious scholar Nasir Madni have become embroiled in an intensifying dispute.

The actress has served a legal notice on Nasir Madni, demanding an explanation, a public apology, and the removal of content containing allegedly defamatory statements.

According to the legal notice, certain remarks made by Nasir Madni regarding Momina Iqbal have damaged her reputation, dignity, and professional career.

The notice argues that these comments constitute defamation and calls for their immediate retraction, along with a public apology.

The notice further states that if the demands are not met within the specified period, the actress reserves the right to pursue additional legal action to protect her legal interests.

This development comes at a time when Momina Iqbal has already been making headlines due to various legal disputes and harassment-related cases. In recent weeks, she approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations of cyber harassment, threats, and blackmail against Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar. Subsequently, a case was also registered against her under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

Before issuing the legal notice, Momina Iqbal reacted strongly to Nasir Madni’s statements through an Instagram Story.

The actress alleged that Nasir Madni had further amplified the accusations and allegations against her while speaking from the pulpit.

In her post, Momina Iqbal wrote that she would emerge vindicated in both this world and the hereafter, as only she and Allah know the truth regarding the accusations made against her. She also stated unequivocally that she would not forgive Nasir Madni.

The actress further maintained that, according to Islamic teachings, accusing someone without evidence and damaging their honor is a grave sin. Referring to verses from Surah An-Nur, she said that everyone would be held accountable for their actions and that justice would ultimately prevail.

The controversy has sparked mixed reactions across the entertainment industry and social media, with many now awaiting Nasir Madni’s response to the legal notice.
