Disheartened student commits suicide over dismal performance in third MDCAT

A student of the Islamia College Peshawar committed suicide after failing to perform well in the recent Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

Mubashir Ali allegedly ended his life by consuming drugs in his hostel room. He was shifted to a hospital for medical attention, but he could not survive.

The provost of the Islamia College stated that the student belonged to the Zoology department and was in the first semester.

The victim was found in a critical state by one of his friends in the room.

His father told the police that his son took this extreme step after failing in his last attempt in the MDCAT, having given the test twice before.

The student hailed from Parachinar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram district.
