Dell is rebranding its lineup by simplifying its PC categories, saying goodbye to its existing brands like "Inspiron" and "XPS."

Instead, all Dell machines will now be grouped into three main categories: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max, a naming convention similar to Apple’s approach.

This change was announced at Dell’s CES press conference, where it was noted that the company is moving toward more understandable terms.

While Apple didn’t invent the term "Pro," Dell’s shift aims to make its product offerings clearer for consumers.

However, the new structure comes with its own complexities. Each of the three categories—Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max—includes sub-categories such as Base, Plus, and Premium, which may still cause confusion.

For instance, a customer might come across names like Dell Pro Base, Dell Premium, or Dell Pro Max Plus, and struggle to determine which option is the best fit based solely on the naming convention.

While the new naming system simplifies the overall structure, it still presents challenges when it comes to understanding the differences between the models, leaving consumers with more questions than answers about which machine is right for them.
