Apple's latest flagship device, the iPhone 16 Pro, has encountered its first major hiccup since its release on September 9.
Several users have taken to social networking platform Reddit to report a frustrating touchscreen freezing issue.
The problem occurs when users accidentally press the area next to the new camera control button, which allows users to take and control photos without opening the camera app.
The feature is one of the standout additions to the iPhone 16 series, alongside other exciting upgrades such as enhanced AI-powered cameras, improved battery life, and faster A18 Bionic chips.
However, affected users claim that pressing the area near the camera button temporarily stops all taps, swipes, and other actions performed on the screen, except for the home bar.
According to 9to5Mac, the issue is believed to be caused by an overly sensitive rejection algorithm in iOS.
The users who started the threads on Reddit explained that if someone accidentally touches the area next to the new camera control button, the entire screen freezes, except for the home bar, which is the part of the phone that is causing the problem.
Apple has yet to comment on the issue, but users are hoping for a software update to resolve the problem soon.
Despite the glitch, iPhone 16 enthusiasts are eagerly exploring the device's other features, such as the enhanced always-on display, improved Face ID technology, and seamless integration with other Apple devices.
The iPhone 16 series starts at $799 for the base model, with the Pro variant starting at $999.
With advanced camera capabilities, improved low-light performance, and faster charging, the iPhone 16 Pro remains a highly anticipated device, and users are confident that Apple will promptly address the touchscreen issue.
