Samsung delays Galaxy S25 slim launch

Samsung enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the forthcoming Unpacked event scheduled for January 22, where the company is expected to unveil its flagship lineup for 2025, comprising the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25, and S25+.

However, the much-anticipated fourth variant, the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Slim, is likely to be absent from the January presentation and is now speculated to make its debut in May.

Recent rumors have emerged on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, where an unnamed source indicated that the Galaxy S25 Slim is projected to be officially launched in May.

It is important to note that this source is not widely recognized, so the information should be approached with caution; nevertheless, the timeline appears reasonable given the lack of significant leaks concerning the device's development status.

Recent benchmark data suggests that the smartphone is still undergoing development, while previous discoveries within the One UI 7 Beta code hinted at a potential launch in the second quarter of 2025, which encompasses April to June.

With an anticipated thickness of merely 6.5mm, the Galaxy S25 Slim is rumored to occupy a position between the S25 Plus and Ultra models in terms of display size.

Leaked information suggests that the device may feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the S25 Slim is expected to incorporate advanced silicon-carbon battery technology, allowing it to maintain a slim profile while achieving a battery capacity of approximately 5,000mAh.

This new addition to the Galaxy S25 series will encounter significant competition from Apple's anticipated iPhone 17 Air, which is also rumored to be even slimmer at 5.5mm. While both devices remain unconfirmed, the trend towards thinner smartphones is becoming increasingly evident.
