WhatsApp channels may soon allow admins to post quizzes

WhatsApp is testing a new quiz feature for its Channels, expanding the tools available to channel administrators to engage followers. The feature has appeared in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp on both Android and iOS, suggesting a wider rollout could take place in the coming weeks.

According to reports by WABetaInfo, the quiz option allows channel admins to post a question along with multiple answer choices. Unlike polls, admins are required to mark one answer as correct before publishing the quiz. The answers can also include images, making the feature suitable for educational, entertainment, or promotional content.

When users select the correct option, they are shown a celebratory confetti animation. Channel administrators can view a breakdown of responses, including how many users chose each option. However, the level of detail visible to admins depends on participants’ privacy settings, with some personal information remaining hidden.

The quiz feature builds on WhatsApp’s recent focus on Channels and follows the introduction of other updates, including in-app translation tools and a native Apple Watch app.
