18-year-old dies after employer beats him for taking extra leave during Eid

An 18-year-old boy died after he was allegedly beaten by a shopkeeper in Lahore's Manawan area for taking additional leave during Eid, it emerged on Monday.

According to police, the victim sustained severe injuries during the assault and was immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.

However, he succumbed to his injuries due to their critical nature.

Authorities confirmed that the shopkeeper had been arrested and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against him.

In a separate incident, a 14-year-old domestic worker who was reportedly subjected to violence in Lahore’s Ghalib Market area also died during treatment at the hospital.

There were signs of violence on various parts of the child's body, including the genital area.

As per initial details, the boy, identified as Sunny, had been employed as a housekeeper at the residence of a man named Sajid, a resident of Main Market.

The incident of abuse reportedly took place a few days before it was reported to the police.

Ghalib Market police station had arrested Atif and Javed, residents of Main Market, after registering a First Information Report (FIR) on the father's statement. T
