The Karachi police have arrested two domestic workers for allegedly stealing valuables from houses where they were employed.
The Brigade police said that the suspects, identified as Nousheen and Noor Fatima, were arrested during a raid near Jutt Line following a tip-off. According to the police, stolen bonds worth Rs7.5 million and Rs87,000 in cash were recovered from their possession.
The police said that suspect Nausheen secured employment as a domestic worker at a citizen's house a few months ago and allegedly committed thefts after gaining the family's trust and carrying out the crime when the residents were away.
They said CCTV footage showing the suspect fleeing after the theft has also been obtained.
Officials claimed that the suspects carried out planned thefts after completing around three months of employment. Nausheen had also allegedly been arrested in the past in connection with theft of gold jewellery and cash in the Jutt Line area.
