OGRA increases LPG price for September

ISLAMABAD, August 31, 2026: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs4.33 per kilogram in September, as per a notification obtained by ARY News.

After the increase, the revised price of LPG stands at Rs258.65 per kilogram.

An 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder price has been raised by Rs51.17 and the revised consumer price of LPG stands at Rs3,052.09.

Consumer price of LPG has been raised to Rs258,651.52 per tonne, as per the notification.

LPG producer price has been increased by Rs4,336.17 per tonne, as per the notification.LPG producer price for September has been increased to Rs217,351.52 per tonne.The new price of LPG will become effective from September 1, 2026.

Previously, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had launched an inquiry into a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker that landed at Port Qasim, Karachi, reportedly with forged documents.

As per FIA officials, the agency is probing into the case of a ship named Venus 09, which brought LPG from Oman and landed at the port.

Captain of the ship is being questioned and the ship's documents have been confiscated for further verification.

According to preliminary records, the ship carried 3,267 metric tonnes of LPG worth Rs1.25 billion that were imported by Sahil Gas Company.

The tanker offloaded LPG with the approval of Customs officials at the port. Now, the FIA is verifying the place from where the shipment was imported.

The FIA has suggested that the tanker should not be allowed to leave the port until the inquiry is complete.
