Security forces on Thursday apprehended four terrorists and also dismantled two explosives-loaded vehicles in an intelligence-based operation carried out in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing.

As per the statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the intelligence-based operation was carried out due to the presence of terrorists belonging to the “Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan”.

Fitna al-Hindustan is the name given by the government to the terrorists that belong to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other militant organizations active in the province.

The ISPR added that the security forces thwarted the movement of two explosives-filled vehicles operated by terrorists.

"Due to swift and prompt action of security forces, both vehicles were successfully destroyed," said the statement, adding that four terrorists operating the two vehicles were killed in the process.

The military added that the security forces were carrying out operations in the area to eliminate "any other Indian-sponsored terrorist found in the area."

Expressing determination in combating terrorism, the ISPR said that "relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country."

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for carrying out the operation, saying their timely action had foiled a major terrorist plot.

The prime minister praised the forces for killing four militants and destroying two explosives-laden vehicles during the operation.

"Every malicious attempt to spread terrorism in Pakistan will be thwarted," he said.

He added that operations by the security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue with full force until terrorism was completely eradicated from the country.
