A 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred 86 kilometres northeast of  Balochistan’s Khuzdar on Friday, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to PMD’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre, an earthquake occurred at 6:30 am at a depth of 13 km with its epicentre some 86km northeast of Khuzdar.

It was preceded by another earthquake, with a 3.8 magnitude, which occurred at 5:52 am at a depth of 33 kilometres, 75 kilometres southeast of Khuzdar.

In addition, the news agency APP reported the presence of tremors in several districts of the Sindh province, namely, Sukkur, Qambar, Shahdadkot, and Dadu, whereas Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, and Nasirabad also experienced tremors

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 shook parts of Pakistan in January, affecting regions including Gilgit-Baltistan, Peshawar, and surrounding areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Tremors were also felt in Islamabad.
