ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan on Wednesday alleged that gunfire was opened on protesters sitting at a particular place on Tuesday night, leaving some injured.

The previous day, a procession led by Afridi was stopped in its track in order to enter Islamabad where it was heading to the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for meeting Imran. This resulted in protesters staging a sit-in at the junction of Srinagar Highway and G.T. Road, popularly known as Chungi No. 26.

During a press conference, Afridi alleged that gunfire was opened on the previous day in order to disperse them. “We are giving gas to whole Pakistan but the country is firing bullets against parliamentarians and even denied wheat supply to the province,” he added.

During the press conference, they also presented a video clip where gunshots were fired at different protesters sitting there.

They also asked whether the state has any example in which the sisters of former prime ministers have faced the treatment being faced by Imran’s sisters.
