Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), in a statement issued today (Saturday), urged individuals engaged in peace disturbances, violence, damage to government property, and death of innocent humans to surrender forthwith and appear before law, while promising full legal aid to those who surrender.
There have been tensions brewing up in AJK due to recently reported deadly incidents resulting in conflicting accounts regarding casualties, governance, and political legitimacy issues. As per official reports, seven deaths have been recorded so far.
Officials noted that although some people claimed to be peaceful, certain elements have indulged in acts of violence. According to officials, the said elements have always been seen as the main players behind damaging government property and acts that led to the killing and wounding of security forces.
In a statement released by AJK Supreme Court Bar Association President Raja Aftab Ahmed Advocate, he said that those indulging in violent acts and disrupting public order should surrender forthwith.
He said, "Those engaging in disturbing peace, violent attacks, damaging government property, and causing death to humans must urgently surrender.
