CTO Lahore distributes free helmets

LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amarah Akhtar distributed free helmets to motorcyclists without proper headgear at Liberty Chowk.

During a media briefing, CTO Amarah Akhtar underscored that the focus is on preserving lives rather than revenue collection.

Motorcyclists adhering to helmet usage will not face fines, and the issuance of driving licenses will follow the updated fee schedule starting January 10.

Lauding the Lahore City Traffic Police for this commendable move, the public sees it as a pivotal step in safeguarding lives and reducing road accidents.

Additionally, the announcement of a new fee schedule for driving licenses, effective from January 10, is seen as a positive measure to enhance government revenue and streamline traffic police operations.
