Eight killed, minor injured in two tribal firing incidents in Balochistan

At least eight people have been reported dead, including a minor girl, in two separate cases of firing that took place in the context of tribal clashes in Qila Abdullah and Dera Bugti districts of Balochistan on Sunday, according to police and district authorities.
In the first case, four persons were shot dead and a minor girl injured due to firing on account of an old rivalry in the Badwan area of Qila Abdullah district.
Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah Munawar Hussain Magssi verified the report and stated that Obaidullah, Ziaullah, Eimal and Mohammad Shahid were among those killed in the shooting, while the girl, named Bibi Saniya, was hurt.
"All the deceased and the injured girl were taken to the Trauma Centre Mazai Adda, where their deaths were confirmed by the doctors," Magssi stated, saying that the girl was taken to Quetta for her treatment.
The bodies were handed over to the heirs after completing all medico-legal procedures.
"The infuriated relatives then put the bodies on the Quetta–Chaman National Highway and staged a sit-in protest, which blocked the road," he added.
As per Magssi, the administration of the district and the police reached the location and conducted negotiations with the protesting people.
"After long negotiations, the protestors have agreed to open the road for traffic," he remarked.
The relatives demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators, while the officials assured to investigate the matter thoroughly on merit.
The local elders and political personalities also criticized the incident and demanded immediate solution of the dispute between tribes and the safety of the people.
In another incident in the Drenjan locality of Sui in Dera Bugti district, four individuals have been killed and one person has sustained injuries during a clash between the relatives on some financial dispute.
As per SP Zia Mandokhail, the fight between the members of the Kohli tribe of the Peerozani clan started over some financial dispute and turned into exchange of heavy gunfire, causing fear in the locality.
He further said that a father and his son were killed in one side while two brothers were killed from the other side in the exchange of fire. The injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
