Suspect involved in killing of Faisalabad kite string victim arrested

Faisalabad police have claimed to arrest a suspect involved in the killing of Asif Ashfque, who lost his life after his throat was slit by a kite string while riding a motorcycle on March 22.
Addressing a press conference, Central Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Muhammad Ali Zia said the cops apprehended the suspects within 48 hours on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
“We had not a single clue except a kite string, to reach the suspect," he added.
However, the police traced the man, named Abid Gujjar, who took part in kite flying at the roof of Bank near the crime scene.
According to Zia, Abid confessed during the investigation that it was his kite string that killed the 22-year-old victim.
The incident happened on March 22, when Asif Shafiq's throat was slitted by kite string en route to Factory area.
Zia told the reporters that police have arrested at least four people involved in the formation and sale of metal strings.
