Father killed, son injured for resisting robbery in Karachi

In yet another incident of street crime in Karachi, a father was killed and his son was injured for resisting robbery in the port city on Wednesday.

According to police, the distressing incident took place near Bilal Chowrangi petrol pump in Korangi area of the metropolis.

Police said three dacoits on a motorbike intercepted Abdul Malik and his son Kashif outside their factory in Korangi.

The son opened fire at the robbers, resulting in the injury of one of the bandits, identified as Imtiaz Ahmed.

In response, the muggers also fired at the victims, killing the 50-year-old father on the spot.

Following the incident, the muggers easily fled the scene while the injured suspect was arrested by the police.

The law enforcers said the criminals were chasing the victim from the bank, where they withdrew Rs1 million.

The police are interrogating the arrested robber and conducting raids to apprehend the remaining suspects.
