Father’s friend among three arrested in Azaan’s kidnapping case,says Police

Police have claimed that the child’s father’s friend, Muhammad Ehtesham, was the alleged mastermind behind the kidnapping and played a key role in planning and executing the crime.

According to police officials, the suspects were arrested during separate operations in Karachi and near Gharo. The arrests were made based on technical intelligence and a continuous investigation into the case.

Police identified the arrested suspects as, Muhammad Ehtesham son of Imran Khan, identified as the alleged mastermind and a friend of the complainant.

Abdul Wahab son of Muhammad Ashfaq, identified as Ehtesham’s brother-in-law and an alleged accomplice.

Iftikhar Ahmed son of Abdul Karim, identified as an alleged facilitator who reportedly kept the child near Gharo.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway, and additional details will be shared as the probe progresses.

Police said Azaan Ali Khan was kidnapped on July 18, 2026, from a private housing society in Manghopir. A case (FIR No. 438/2026) was registered at Manghopir Police Station under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 3(2) of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018, on the complaint of the child’s father.
