Female cop who killed husband in Karachi's Mominabad remanded in police custody

A judicial magistrate in Karachi on Thursday sent a female cop on a six-day physical remand in connection with the alleged murder of her husband in the Mominabad area.

Police produced the suspect, identified as Dua, before the court after her arrest. The investigating officer requested physical remand, stating that further interrogation was required to uncover the facts of the case.

During the hearing, the IO informed the court that the cause of death of the victim has not yet been confirmed. He added that the suspect is a serving police official posted at the Super Market police station.

The officer further told the court that a co-accused, identified as Fahad, is currently at large, and that custody of the suspect is necessary to trace and arrest him.

The court accepted the prosecution’s request and handed the accused into police custody for six days. It also directed investigators to conduct the interrogation in accordance with the law and submit a progress report at the next hearing.
