Four booked over blackmail after lady constable dies by suicide in Punjab

Police in Faisalabad on Sunday registered an FIR against four people for blackmailing a lady constable, which forced her to commit suicide.

Suspects Liaquat, Imran, Nazia and Naveed allegedly blackmailed Musarrat Iqbal by sharing her objectionable videos. 

The lady constable, who was in great distress due to that, ultimately ended her life.   

The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Tarkhani police station.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has begun prioritising complaints against individuals involved in blackmail, harassment and harming the “dignity and reputation of women”, and arrested 10 alleged “harassers” on Saturday in different parts of Punjab.
