Karachi Police have registered a kidnapping case of a four-year-old girl who went missing from Hijrat Colony and transferred the investigation to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC).

According to details, the missing girl, identified as Maira, daughter of Israr, disappeared while playing outside her home on Street No 32, Sector D-2, Hijrat Colony, around 7 pm on August 25.

Her father told police that despite searching with the help of local residents, the child could not be traced. He alleged that unidentified suspects had kidnapped his daughter.

The case was registered under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with FIR No 165/2025 and later referred to the AVCC.

CCTV footage showed a man in a black helmet acting suspiciously in the alley where Maira was playing. Her sister told police that she saw a man take Maira away. She tried to stop him and ran after him, but he escaped.

Israr further claimed that he received a ransom call demanding Rs1.5 million for his daughter’s release. However, police investigations revealed the number was bogus and had been used previously in similar extortion attempts.

Police began their investigation after the family received a ransom call, telling Maira's father to bring money to Lyari. However, when he arrived, the kidnappers never contacted him, and their number did not respond.

Meanwhile, police suspect the kidnapper may be an acquaintance of the family.
