The initial post-mortem report of an 18-year-old student who died during treatment at a hospital in Jhang has found no evidence of physical torture or sexual assault, hospital officials said.
The girl was brought unconscious to a private hospital, where she later died during treatment. According to the police, four suspects who allegedly left her at the hospital and fled the scene have been taken into custody.
Hospital authorities said the preliminary autopsy did not reveal any signs of violence or sexual abuse. However, samples have been sent to a forensic laboratory in Lahore to determine the exact cause of death.
The post-mortem report further disclosed that the girl had been suffering from diabetes and had been using insulin for the past five years. She was unconscious when she was brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, the report added.
Police are continuing their investigation into the case and are awaiting the results of the forensic examination.
The development comes after the victim's father alleged that his daughter had been abducted and sexually assaulted before her death. Authorities said the final conclusions would depend on the forensic findings and ongoing investigation.
