Invitation for LGBTQ party in Karachi circulates on social media

An invitation for an alleged LGBTQ party in Karachi circulated on Facebook. A poster titled “Lesboween” was widely shared by several accounts but did not reveal the venue.

The event is scheduled for "October 30, 9pm onwards," and the poster mentioned that participants can learn about the venue and other details via direct message.

"Limited slots available. Registration closes at Oct 29," the post read. 

The post featured an image of two women kissing. The term “Lesboween” left many people confused about the theme of the event. The gathering is reportedly organized to celebrate Halloween, with lesbian and gay individuals invited to join the festivities.

Although many similar posts have appeared on Facebook, so far no one has revealed the location or shared further details about the party.

LGBTQ issues remain highly sensitive in Pakistan due to prevailing religious and social values. Events like these, and the debates surrounding them, often spark online controversy as people express strong opposition to homosexual relationships.
