In a significant step toward enhancing commuter safety—particularly for women—the Islamabad Police have launched a dedicated ‘Online Taxi Verification App’.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Nasir Rizvi said the initiative aims to improve coordination between law enforcement agencies and online taxi services, ensuring greater oversight and security for passengers.
“This app has been developed specifically to address the growing safety concerns of female passengers using ride-hailing services,” stated the IGP.
“It will enable the police to track taxi movements in real time and intervene promptly if needed. Public safety remains our top priority.”
The app features an emergency button that allows users to report any unverified or suspicious vehicles directly to the police.

IGP Rizvi also confirmed that the application is now available for download through the official website of Islamabad Police.
This digital solution is part of the federal capital’s broader efforts to leverage technology for crime prevention and citizen protection, offering commuters a more secure travel experience through verified online taxi services.
