A man in Karachi allegedly stabbed his three-month pregnant wife to death for not doing household chores, according to a post shared by the victim's sister on Instagram.

The victim’s sister, named Alishba, shared that she had been mentally tortured by her mother-in-law and husband.

The incident took place in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony on Saturday night. The couple had married four months ago, on June 22, 2024.

The victim, identified as Laiba, was a resident of Azizabad. According to reports, her family found knife wounds on her neck.

Laiba’s husband, Abdullah Fiaz, was arrested by the police following the incident, according to reports.

The deceased woman’s sister also spoke about her death, stating that Laiba had been mentally tortured by her mother-in-law after the marriage.

“Her husband and mother-in-law subjected her to mental torture over household chores and then slit her throat. She was three months pregnant and expecting a baby girl,” Alisha wrote in the caption of her post, which included a wedding picture of her sister.

She urged social media users to share her post widely to ensure her sister receives justice and the perpetrator faces the consequences of his heinous crime.

Alisha also alleged that Laiba's in-laws are trying to cover up the incident by claiming her murder was an accident.
