Karachi traffic police issue over Rs 710 million in e-challans in one month

The Traffic Police have released details of e-challans issued in Karachi over the past month, revealing that fines exceeding Rs 710 million were imposed during this period.
According to the Traffic Police, more than 93,000 e-challans were issued in Karachi in a single month for various traffic violations.
The highest number of challans — 57,541 — were issued for not wearing seat belts. Additionally, 22,227 motorcyclists were fined for not wearing helmets.
Using trackers installed in dumpers, trailers, and water tankers, 1,188 challans were issued for overspeeding.
A total of 2,699 challans were issued for speeding by other vehicles, while 3,102 motorists were fined for signal violations.
Furthermore, 1,278 challans were issued for fancy number plates and 1,178 vehicles were fined for tinted windows.
Another 611 challans were issued for stop-line violations, and 426 for wrong-way driving.
According to the Traffic Police, fines for not wearing seat belts amounted to Rs 575.41 million. Motorcyclists not wearing helmets were fined Rs 111.35 million, while vehicles with tinted windows were fined Rs 29.45
