KP CM Sohail Afridi and his convoy faced serious hurdles while on the way back from Hyderabad to Karachi, late at night.

According to party sources, the CM’s convoy left Hyderabad around 12:30am but faced repeated delays due to road closures and barriers placed along multiple routes which he had to pass through.

Resulting the delay in convoy reaching the motorway in around three hours, despite what should have been a shorter journey.

Upon reaching the motorway, they were met with additional blockades allegedly set up at various points. Party officials claimed the objective of these blockades was to prevent KP CM and his convoy from proceeding further.

Earlier in the day, tensions had already escalated in Sindh after officials of the Sindh government conducted an operation at Jinnah Ground, where workers of PTI were gathered preparing for the Jalsa on Sunday. The workers were assaulted during the unjustified operation.

PTI leaders have criticized the the Zardari-led Sindh government of abandoning democratic norms which the former PPP leadership always advocated for.

According to PTI leaders, such measures reflect the fear of the growing popularity of Imran Khan and his party.
