In a bizarre incident, a groom shot himself in Lahore under the pretext of a robbery to escape his own wedding, according to the police.
The police said the incident occurred in Lahore’s Sabzazar area, where a man, seeking to avoid his wedding, staged a robbery in which he attempted to harm himself.
DIG Operations stated that the police initially received a report of a robbery and learned that a man, identified as Ali Haider, had sustained a gunshot wound during the incident.
However, further investigation revealed a different story.
After a day-long inquiry, it was uncovered that Ali Haider had orchestrated the entire event to avoid his wedding.
In an attempt to evade family pressure to marry, the groom fabricated the entire episode and made a false emergency call, claiming to be a victim of robbery.
However, the suspect later confessed to the police that the robbery was staged to avoid tying the knot.
In a separate incident, a man was severely injured after entering a lion's cage at a private farmhouse in Sabzazar. The incident occurred at the farmhouse owned by Mian Umar Dola, where the victim, identified as Azeem, had gone to see the lion.
According to reports, Azeem inadvertently stepped into the lion’s enclosure, which prompted the animal to attack him. He sustained serious injuries to his head, face, and arms and was immediately rushed to Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Police officials launched an investigation and stated that legal action may be taken against the lion's owner, Mian Umar Dola, depending on the victim's complaint.
