KARACHI: Punjab Forensic Science Agency has been unable to unlock the iPhone belonging to the murdered businessman Mir Raza.
Sources say that the Punjab forensic lab officially told the investigation committee in writing that they could not access the iPhone.
Now, the Apple Watch and the iPhone will be returned to the investigation committee, sources say.
Some screenshots and messages were retrieved from the Apple Watch of Mir Raza. But whatever was retrieved from the watch was not found significant in the investigation, sources reveal.
Earlier, the two gadgets had been sent to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on August 13. Later, the Apple Watch and mobile phone were returned to the investigation committee on August 15.
Family of Mir Raza was also worried about the handling of the gadgets by the NCCIA.
An Investigation Officer, Siraj Lashari, had sent the gadgets to Punjab Forensic Science Agency for forensic tests.
Previously, the lawyer of slain businessman Mir Raza Ali, Jibran Nasir, had alleged the Sindh police and Sindh government of protecting the culprits of his murder.
