Misbah death case: Husband confesses to subjecting wife to domestic violence, say police

Police have arrested the key suspect in connection with the death of young woman Misbah due to alleged domestic violence in Karachi's Surjani Town.

According to the police, suspect Shehryar was arrested from Malir within 24 hours of the incident. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to subjecting Misbah to physical violence.

Police officials said the victim had also been assaulted three days before her death, adding that incidents of abuse had occurred in the past as well.

Investigators further revealed that this was Shehryar's fourth marriage, and allegations of mistreatment by his former wives have also surfaced during the probe.

According to police, the suspect frequently changed rented residences in different areas of the city. Authorities also dismissed social media claims that Shehryar was a police officer, terming them baseless.

Police said additional evidence and witness statements are being collected, while further investigation into the case is underway.
