A man opened fire on a neighbour’s home in Muridke’s Basra Colony area over playing loud music during a wedding event, it emerged on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, a 15-year-old boy from the groom’s family was killed in the firing while two others were injured.

The police said that after a heated argument with the neighbours, the accused fired shots at their home during wedding festivities.

The body of the deceased boy and the injured were immediately shifted to the nearest hospital.

The accused is still at large, however, the police assured that he will be apprehended very soon.

Earlier, a local resident in Toba Tek Singh registered an FIR with the police against his neighbour for playing “loud and offensive” songs of singer Naseebo Lal during a Mehndi event.

The complainant described the songs as 'vulgar' and stated that the music was extremely loud and people were dancing.

Local police arrested a man after reaching the spot and filed an FIR under Section 6 of The Punjab Sound Systems (Regulation) Act 2015 and under Section 3E of the Punjab Marriage Functions Act 2016 for causing “nuisance or disturbance.”

Interestingly, the police complaint also mentioned the song lyrics, which the complainant found  'vulgar.'

The police later presented the suspect in front of a local magistrate, who released him and dismissed the case.
