Murtaza Wahab apologises to three-year-old Ibrahim's family

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab visited the home of 3-year-old Ibrahim to express his condolences and offer a heartfelt apology to the grieving family.

The mayor's visit came four days after the incident. He acknowledged the administrative negligence that led to the tragedy. He apologised and asked for forgiveness from Ibrahim’s father and grandfather, noting that he was not present during the entire ordeal.

Wahab also asked whether the Water Board authorities had arrived, adding that some sources claimed they denied working under such circumstances. Ibrahim’s grandfather replied, “No, they did not even come.”

He further stated, “Not a single authority came to rescue Ibrahim. No one was there.”

After hearing this, Wahab once again apologised as the grandfather expressed his frustration and disappointment.

Earlier, during the protest at Nipa Chowrangi, demonstrators showed strong anger toward Murtaza Wahab and demanded his resignation.
