New CCTV footage shows Mir Raza Ali taking out pistol from his shop

A new development has emerged in the investigation into the death of Mir Raza Ali whose body was found in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.

Raza — an IBA graduate — returned home from his shop on the night of July 28 before leaving again, telling his family he would be back within 10 minutes. Police later recovered his body from bushes in Block 1 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

CCTV footage recorded before the death of Mir Raza Ali Khan has surfaced. The footage allegedly shows Mir Raza removing a firearm from a drawer at 10:43 p.m.

Another CCTV recording shows him at 4:38 a.m. walking alone a short distance from the location where his body was later discovered.

The footage reportedly shows Mir Raza walking by himself.

According to police sources, Mir Raza left his home in an online taxi and travelled to the location seen in the CCTV footage. Police also recovered his mobile phone from the crime scene in Gulistan-e-Jauhar; however, the pistol is missing.

Police sources further stated that no firearm is registered in Mir Raza Ali Khan's name.

According to investigators, the missing weapon is believed to be a .30-bore pistol, while the bullet that struck Mir Raza in the chest was also of .30-bore calibre.

Police sources added that no spent bullet casing was recovered from the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
