Pakpattan man stages fake sexual assault on his sister to escape arrest in rape cases

In a shocking turn of events, a man in Pakpattan, who was a suspect in multiple rape cases, staged a fake sexual assault on his teenage sister during a robbery to evade arrest.

The news of the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl surfaced on September 23 near Malik Bahawal village in Pakpattan.

Initially, news outlets reported that the robbers fled after snatching cash, mobile phones, and gold jewellery. Checkpoints were set up in the area to search for the suspects.

Superintendent Police Shahida Noreen told the media that at least five cases of rape were registered against the girl's brother, Asif alias Asim, and his other relatives in Bahawalnagar.

She additionally revealed that Asif orchestrated a fake gang rape scenario during a robbery, using his sister Shehzadi to counter the rape charges against him.

The suspect had named his adversaries in the case.

According to the police report, the girl's DNA test returned negative, and her stolen mobile phone was also recovered from her mother.

SP Investigation Shahida Noreen stated that action will be taken against those who file a false and baseless case.

In July 2023, police in Jhelum arrested a female suspect for running a gang involved in extorting money from several men under false rape charges.
