2 women killed in firing on vehicle carrying Karachi-based traders

Two women were killed when a vehicle came under fire in Qila Abdullah.

According to police, the incident took place in the Sigi area of Qila Abdullah, where gunmen opened fire on a vehicle.

Police said two women were killed in the firing, while a father and his daughter were injured. The injured were shifted to the Trauma Centre in Quetta in critical condition, while the bodies of the deceased women were taken to Abdul Rahman Zai Hospital.

Police further said the deceased and injured were from Karachi and had travelled to Tehsil Gulistan two days ago in connection with business matters. According to police, a tribal group opened fire after the vehicle failed to stop.

Police said the Sigi area is considered a no-go zone for public movement due to tribal feuds. Police sources said it is also difficult for law enforcement personnel to enter the area, and a case had not yet been registered.
