Police have arrested Gul Jan, the father of Bibi Bano, one of the two victims killed in a suspected honour-based murder in the Dagari area near Quetta.

Gul Jan was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the brutal killing of his daughter and a man. He was presented before the court and subsequently sent to jail on judicial remand.

Earlier, tribal figures Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai and Bashir Ahmed were arrested and placed on 10-day physical remand. Both remain in police custody and are being interrogated.

The victim’s mother was also arrested after she reportedly posted a statement on social media defending the murder and demanding the release of one of the tribal chiefs accused in the case.
