The former in-laws of the Tunisian woman, who traveled to Karachi to marry her online lover but is now divorced, claimed she was advised against coming to Pakistan, as her ex-husband Amir and his family lacked the financial means to support her. Despite the warnings, she remained determined to travel abroad to marry her partner.
The statement came after the woman approached the Women’s Police Station in Karachi, stating that she wished to return to her home country as her husband divorced her after a few months into the marriage.
However, her 90-day visa expired on February 18, and she cannot leave without either renewing it or obtaining an official exit permit.
Additionally, she is burdened by financial constraints, requiring approximately $400 USD for a return ticket and over Rs 225,000 for visa renewal procedures.
“She had been told multiple times not to come to Pakistan from Tunisia, as we were unable to bear her expenses. But she insisted that she would manage in any condition and arrived in Pakistan stubbornly,” said Aamir’s parents.

According to Aamir's family, Sinda disrupted the peace of their household due to her “odd and ill-mannered behavior,” which they believe ultimately led to the separation.
However, Sinda offered different reasons the of divorce from husband, saying Aamir neither paid attention to her nor cared about her, which is why she now wishes to return to her Tunisia.
She said they frequently argued over small matters. Recalling one incident, she stated: “I tried to throw some of Amir’s belongings out of the window, but they didn’t go. He got so angry he slapped me. When I slapped him back, he twisted my hands.”
Sinda also accused Aamir’s father of torturing her, stating, “When I asked him (Aamir’s father) to stay out of the couple’s personal matters, he brutally beat me on the face.”
“I became very depressed because my husband wasn’t doing anything. Eventually, he divorced me,” she said.
