Sialkot police arrest man for harassing woman on qingqi rickshaw

Sialkot police have arrested a man who was caught on camera harassing a woman traveling on a qingqi rickshaw. The video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting public outrage and demands for swift action against the perpetrator.

Punjab Police shared an update on their X account, confirming that the suspect is now in custody. Authorities have assured the public that he will face strict punishment.

DPO Sialkot has directed the police to present the accused in court and ensure that he receives the harshest possible sentence. IG Punjab Usman Kakar emphasised that women’s safety remains the top priority for Punjab Police, adding that the department will not neglect its duty to protect citizens.

Video from the incident showed the man riding a motorcycle alongside the qingqi rickshaw on a busy road and forcibly pulling the woman’s dupatta while the vehicle was in motion.
