Street crimes in Karachi claim 20 lives during Ramadan

There is no respite in the menace of street crimes in Karachi as ruthless robbers killed 20 people for showing resistance during the holy month of Ramadan.
The first case of killing over robbery resistance was reported on Ramadan 3 when dacoits shot dead a dairy owner in Malir.
On Ramadan 5, bandits killed two men in the Essa Nagri and Pakistan Bazar area of the metropolis.
A Christian man was killed by robbers at the doorstep of his house in Malir on Ramadan 10. Another man, identified as Engineer Shoiab Shafqat, was shot dead by dacoits in the Malir area same day.
A shopkeeper was gunned down by bandits on Ramadan 13 in the North Karachi area of Karachi.
A 22-year-old boy Zohaib was killed by robbers over resistance in Surjani town on Ramadan 14.
Moreover, a woman was shot dead by muggers inside the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital located in Orangi town on Ramadan 15.
A food panda rider and four others were killed during the rest of the days of Ramadan.
According to reports, 6,780 street crime incidents were reported in the port city in one month.
Sources said that 20 vehicles were snatched at gunpoint and more than 130 others were stolen.
Almost 830 motorcycles were snatched and 4,200 others were stolen during Ramadan.
As many as 1,600 mobile phones were snatched from the citizens in Karachi.
